I am a production focused senior UX designer. I help companies develop intuitive, user friendly design systems for complex and large scale websites and applications. Curious what that looks like? Click Here
In-depth case studies with branding, prototyping, user research and press kits to responsive site designs, animated visuals and campaign creative.
Understand and Plan. I have experience in both Google Analytics and Salesforce CRMs to better assist in site content audits. Pinpointing areas of weaknesses to adjust the site foundation before moving forward.
Putting Relationships First. I have a knack for quickly understanding stakeholder needs, navigating through potentially contradictory expectations, and using creative means to answer questions before they appear. I use my broad experience to speak to different stakeholders in the different ways they understand.
Sometimes It Takes an Army. Working with multiple teams requires intentionality in design - i.e. What is worth arguing for? What are just good ideas? - and the ability to be wrong and shift gears quickly. In my work with PR teams, I dial in design and user journeys as much as I can to bring the client's vision to life, while still being flexible enough to make Public Relation goals achievable.
Making It Work. My design process is flexible and adaptable to whatever the project constraints are. I've worked on a diverse range of timelines and project limitations. Regardless of the constraints, the game plan is always to understand what the problem is, make sure we are solving the right problems, address primary use cases, and incorporate some form of testing.
It's Legos, but Make it a Website. By taking a modular approach, complete with blocks naming conventions and development specifications, I go the extra mile to help developers understand how to approach a design and build out complex site structures effectively. From REM design, CSS Font scaling, and animated prototypes, I walk hand in hand with developers to not just make a pretty site but make it functional and responsive as well.
Saving Time and Sanity. Talking to your designer should be two things: fun and clarifying. I strive to foresee issues and plan out answers before meeting with clients so our conversations can be helpful, exciting, and efficient.
A little bit about me - I got into UX because I've always had a knack for design and enjoyed research personally. Seven years ago, while pursuing my bachelor's in Pre-Medicine, I freelanced as a website designer. UX wasn't a prevalent position back then, but I was already applying my research skills to assist my clients. With my growing client base, I realized that UX was an ideal niche for me. It was through some admired designers (shameless plug for Simon Pan here) that I stumbled upon UX and took a course, and immediately got hired at FINN Partners, a global marketing agency. Since then, I've worked across diverse sectors—software, healthcare, construction, law firms, B2B companies, nonprofits - to a name a few.
We hired Laura to work on one of our client's projects and she was very good at keeping the job in scope or letting us know when it wasn't, which was very appreciated. She navigated leading the project in the right direction while hearing out other opinions and ideas very well. She was always well prepared, professional, well spoken, etc while also being very approachable & fun to work with. I would definitely hire Laura again.
Laura has an incredible eye and works super fast. She is also very dependable. If she says she's going to have something done by a certain time, she does. She doesn't just ask clarifying questions, she asks really thoughtful one's that anticipate problems and easy-to-overlook considerations. When she asked about dynamics or projects in her freelance work, she always wanted to work in a way that maximized every stakeholder's talents and value.
The OrganonBiosimilars.com consumer page designs are OUTSTANDING! I was totally blown away, the GIFs are absolutely awesome - the brand team loved the whole thing as they shared with me on the side. I want to make sure you know we know how awesome they are. THANK YOU!
